Utah artist Adam Abram captures Christ's intense suffering in his oil painting "Gethsemane."
Liahona, "Church News: Church Displays Sections of International Art Competition" September 2009
“Adam Abram, from Utah, USA, who received a Merit Award for his painting, Gethsemane, said about his artwork, This isn't a painting about suffering, its a painting about getting through the suffering. He said his hope for the painting is that people will look at their own struggles and trials in life and know that with the Saviors help they can prevail."
Salt Lake Tribune, "LDS Artistic Mission: Enhancing the Temple Experience"
By Peggy Fletcher Stack August 14, 2009
"Adam Abrams' oil painting "Gethsemane" shows Jesus prostrate, hands covering his head. It is suggestive, evocative, emotion-packed and tailor-made for a sacred space."
Deseret News: Mormon Times, "Life, Faith Captured in LDS Art
By Orson Scott Card September 24, 2009
"Gethsemane," a painting by Adam Abram. In my opinion, this is the best treatment of the subject of Christ in Gethsemane that I have ever seen. It was bold of Abram to choose not to show the Savior's face -- and yet this serves the double purpose of allowing us to see him as we imagine him, and also realistically showing powerful anguish."

"In 2007, Adam won 3rd place in the prestigious Art Renewal Center International Art Contest in New York with his landscape painting of Mount Timpanogos. He placed second with his depiction of the garden of Gethsemane at the Springville Museum of Arts Annual Spiritual and Religious Art Exhibition at the end of 2008
